Start At Home
The start at home scheme is aimed at heating engineers, plumbers and installers who have no experience of heatpumps but are interested to move into this area.
The scheme is designed by Nesta (nesta.org.uk) and operated in Scotland and the North of England by Hisa Engineering Ltd.
What is start at home?
Start at home allows you to install an air source heatpump in your own home and the cost will largely be covered by the HomeEnergyScotland (HES) or Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
It includes:
- Air Source Heatpump
- Heatloss calculations and MCS application
- 200 litre cylinder with buffer
- Heatpump install kit
- 1 day training course
- Full support on site and by phone through planning and final commissioning
HES – You don’t need to pay until the grant comes in
BUS – Payments made direct to the scheme operator when the job is complete
Hisa Engineering Ltd is a manufacturer of heatpumps based in Glasgow and we highly recommend this scheme. We are keen to work with you to help you get started in this exciting new area of business.
Air source heat pumps are known for their energy efficiency and environmentally friendly operation since they can transfer more heat energy than the electricity they consume. They offer a sustainable heating and cooling solution while reducing carbon emissions and energy consumption compared to traditional heating systems.
